13.02.2008 The first interventions in the district of Homa-bay are completed
A first phase of the "Mission WATER", that envisioned the restructuring of 13 broken wells in the district of Homa-bay in Kenia could be concluded.
One of the restructured wells
This drilling is situated in the village of Nyando, and after the intervention of "if..." this well is able to satisfy the need of water of the 484 people living in the area nearby.
The work should have been finished by the end of January, but due to the well known chaos after the elections, there have been problems with the transports of the material and with the availability of labor. Nevertheless these inconveniencies, which are out of our control, "if..." could reach the preset target within slight delay.
As soon as possible we will initiate the second phase of the project, that schedules the restructuring of the remaining 8 wells in the same district of Homa-bay.
